Having spent 10 years (2007 – 2017) as General Counsel for one of the world’s leading marine salvage and wreck removal contractors, David has a unique understanding of marine casualties and emergency response. David represents vessel owners and P&I clubs in many of the largest marine casualties in the Americas, including serving as lead counsel for the owners of the Golden Ray. David regularly represents vessel owners/operators in U.S. Coast Guard and National Transportation Safety Board hearings. His practice also includes representing blue water, brown water and inland towing vessel owners in connection with personal injury, collision/allision, and pipeline/cable damage cases throughout the United States.
In addition to his emergency response and litigation practice, David advises clients on a broad range of regulatory and contractual issues. David’s experience includes Jones Act cabotage issues, Coast Guard regulations, contract and indemnity issues and insurance coverage. Having worked extensively throughout Europe, Asia and South America, David is also experienced at international and multinational transactions, investigations and vessel registry matters.
