Dóra Petrányi is a partner at the CMS Budapest office. She leads the TMC, Data protection and Intellectual Property (IP) practice areas and is a partner in the Budapest office's Antitrust, Competition and Commercial practice areas.
Her main clients are TMT and pharmaceutical companies, foreign-owned commercial banks and major joint ventures.
Her areas of expertise include AI, digital infrastructure, cyberse-curity, data protection, GDPR, competition law, intellectual property law, general commercial contracts, corporate restructuring and mergers and acquisitions.
Dóra is the Co-Chairman of the Regulatory & Ethics Committee of the Hungarian AI Coalition and leads in formulating the response of the Hungarian AI Coalition to the EU consultation request regarding the EU White Paper on Artificial Intelligence, a European Approach to Excellence and Trust. She is also a member of the Hungarian Council of Copyright Experts and a member of the Digital Civil Code Review Working Group, being the only outside counsel in the team. She is the first and only lawyer to be a member of the co-regulatory committee between the local telecommunications’ regulatory authority and the Association of Hungarian Content Providers. Dóra is a member of the International Board at Global Telecom Women's Network (GTWN). Dóra is co-author of several sector-specific publications and is a regular speaker at key international conferences, including the World Economic Forum (Davos), the Mobile World Congress and ECTA.

Dóra Petrányi is a market-leading individual in the Hungarian TMT sector, with notable experience across the full range of compliance with telecommunications regulations, data protection, and media distribution and licence agreements. She has a particular focus on advising technology sector clients on the launch of new products and cloud computing matters.
Dóra Petrányi assists multinational pharmaceutical companies with issues around procurement, liability and reimbursement in Hungary. She also advises Hungarian clients on privacy and licensing agreements, as well as acting on clinical trials and contentious matters.
Dóra Petrányi has a broad practice assisting clients with both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property mandates, such as the management of trade mark portfolios and copyright lawsuits. She has a particular focus on advising clients from the TMT and food and beverage sectors.
