Norwegian tonnage tax scheme approved for a new ten-year period
On 14 December 2017 EFTA's Surveillance Authority ("ESA") approved the Norwegian Tonnage Tax Scheme until the end of 2027. The scheme is maintained in its current form but with certain restrictions. The most significant is a limitation on chartering out on bareboat terms.
