Career
Elias is partner at Consortium Legal – Guatemala. He has 19 years of experience in civil, commercial, arbitration, administrative, constitutional, tax and intellectual property litigation. In recent years, he has been in charge of complex and strategic cases: institutional arbitration for breach of technology contract, commercial lawsuits for termination of distribution contract, ad hoc arbitration for breach of bonds, civil claims for damages caused by a crime in private property, ad hoc arbitration for breach of administrative contracts with the State, civil lawsuits for property disputes in which a hydroelectric is located, institutional arbitration for breach of engineering contract, mercantile trials of exclusion of shareholders, civil trial regarding a contract lease with a term of 30 years.
He is Professor of Civil and Commercial Procedural Law at the Universidad Rafael Landívar. He was Professor of Company Law in the master’s degree in the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the Rafael Landívar University (2011-2014) and Professor of Civil and Commercial Procedural Law at the Universidad del Istmo (2015-2019). He has collaborated with the Association of Lawyers and Notaries of Guatemala as a professor of the cassation appeal (2015-2019).
