George Bishop is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Nashville office who focuses his practice on corporate and healthcare matters. The depth of Mr. Bishop's experience within healthcare, along with his ability to fashion innovative solutions for difficult situations, is well-recognized among industry leaders. He has served as lead counsel on several hundred transactions involving a wide range of investor-owned and nonprofit healthcare providers. His transactional practice is national in scope.

Mr. Bishop has been representing healthcare and other clients in a variety of matters for more than 40 years. In the course of his career, he has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and syndications, antitrust matters, healthcare regulatory issues, securities offerings, and venture capital financings.

He has also traveled abroad on several healthcare trade missions and advised the United Kingdom's Department of Health regarding possible revisions to the National Health Service.

Previously, Mr. Bishop is a former chairman of Waller and served as the head of both its corporate and healthcare practice groups.

Mr. Bishop was involved in founding the Health Law Section of the Tennessee Bar Association of which he served as the initial chair. He was also the initial chair of the Health Law Committee of the Nashville Bar Association and has served multiple terms as a member of the board of directors of the Nashville Health Care Council.
