Jelena has built a rich and impressive experience, combining her well-established corporate and commercial practice with special aptitude for creative strategies and arguments that are vital in arbitration and litigation. Jelena's primary focus is on international commercial arbitration and investment arbitration, where she was particularly successful as one of the key members of the counsel teams leading the State of Montenegro to its seven major arbitration wins, five of which in investor-state arbitrations. Her most recent work includes investor-side representation in a new investor-state arbitration against the Republic of Serbia.

Her growing work already included cases conducted under major arbitration rules: ICSID, ICSID Additional Facility, ICC, UNCITRAL, LCIA, as well as the rules of the Permanent Arbitration with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. The Permanent Arbitration lists Jelena among the persons qualified to serve as arbitrators.

Jelena is also a highly skilled litigator who represents clients in all instance proceedings in Serbia, as well as Montenegro. Her cases run across all areas of law and industries: from contract and commercial matters with specifics in each client's industry, to matters of private international law, recognition and enforcement, and setting aside of arbitral awards, to complex questions originating from pre-World War concepts.
