Career
John Burton manages public finance and derivatives transactions for national and regional clients. He is a Shareholder in Maynard Nexsen's Public Finance Practice Group. In his more than 30 years of practice, he has served all of the primary roles in bond financing, including underwriter's counsel, bond counsel, counsel to the credit enhancer, and counsel to the issuer.
John's experience includes a wide variety of public finance transactions for governmental and private clients. He focuses his practice on healthcare and education finance, with a particular emphasis on underwriter representation. He also has extensive experience drafting and negotiating interest rate swaps and other derivative products for swap market makers as well as public and private clients.
