John S. Rhee is a partner in Dentons' Honolulu office, and is a problem-solver who helps companies and employers win disputes or effectively resolve them. He handles all aspects of litigation, from discovery to mapping trial strategy, as well as appeals. His clients have ranged from Fortune 500 companies to low-income residents of housing projects. John’s practice covers a broad range of pre-litigation and litigation matters on behalf of employers, including internal investigations, administrative proceedings before the Hawai`i Civil Rights Commission and U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and civil lawsuits in state and federal courts. His experience covers a number of industries, including transportation, real estate, health care, and finance. John has litigated pro bono and public interest class actions on behalf of public housing residents and also public employee retirees.
Career
He obtained a BA in history from Yale College and a JD from Columbia Law School, and he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kevin Nathaniel Fox in the Southern District of New York. He worked at WilmerHale from 2001-2008, and then at Hinshaw & Culbertson from 2008-2011. He has worked at Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing (which then merged with Dentons) since 2011.
