Karen Precella has won favorable dispositive trial and appellate rulings in a variety of state and federal complex litigation proceedings. Board certified in civil appeals by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1996 and practicing for over 30 years, she has handled numerous appeals, speaks often on appellate topics, and volunteers in many bar and public service capacities. Precella currently serves on the Board of the ABA’s Council of Appellate Lawyers (and as CAL’s 2023 AJEI Summit Chair) and the Council of the State Bar’s Litigation Section. Having recently completed nine years’ service on the State Bar Oil and Gas Pattern Jury Charge Committee, she now serves again as a member of the Pattern Jury Charge Oversight Committee. She previously served three-year terms as chair of the ABA’s Section of Litigation Appellate Practice Committee, chair of the Business Pattern Jury Charge Committee, and member of the Council of the State Bar of Texas Appellate Section.
