Practice Areas
Kate Newman is a Partner in our Competition, EU and Trade team. She has more than 16 years of experience in the competition field and has expertise across a wide spectrum of EU and UK competition law matters including the application of competition law to strategic collaborations, commercial strategies, trade practices and agreements; abuse of dominance; mergers and acquisitions; joint ventures; and advising clients who are the subject of investigation by the competition authorities, including cartel investigations and market investigations.
Kate’s experience includes:
•advising one of the main parties in the Competition & Markets Authority's investigation of the energy market;
•advising a global manufacturer in the European Commission’s investigation into the truck sector, one of the largest EU competition investigations to date; and
•advising a consortium on the merger control and other competition issues arising from bidding in Round 3 of the UK offshore Wind Programme.
