Practice Areas
Kathryn leads our Brisbane EP&C team and is long recognised as a market expert across environment, planning, climate change, natural resources, government practice and project development.
Kathryn’s expertise has seen her called on to advise government and peak industry bodies on the development of key policy and legislation in relation to sustainable ports master plans (under the Reef 2050 strategy), housing growth areas, energy transition and environmental approvals processes.
She has advised the public sector on some of the largest infrastructure projects in Queensland. Kathryn’s experience in the private sector is similarly formidable, spanning from strategic environmental advice, advocacy, energy transition projects and mine rehabilitation and transition. Recently, Kathryn has advised clients in relation to litigation strategy for significant class action litigation, and was successful in defending the decision of the deputy premier of Queensland in relation to three judicial reviews in relation to his development decision in relation to a significant landfill facility. She also advocated for a client before the Queensland Heritage Council to successfully resist a heritage listing.
Kathryn’s key clients include Queensland Government, Gladstone Ports Corporation, Queensland Resources Council, Urban Utilities, RES, Origin Energy, Windlab, Stanmore, South32, and Lendlease.
