Career

Lyle Larson counsels clients involved in all aspects of the electricity industry – handling matters ranging from FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) litigation and compliance matters, utility asset transactions, congestion management, smart grid and distributed resources, mergers and acquisitions, Section 203 applications, market-based rates, transmission tariffs, organized markets and RTO market design matters before FERC. Among other things, Lyle serves as FERC and Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) counsel to dozens of separate market-based rate sellers that own or control over 70,000 MW of generation (coal, gas, nuclear, solar, wind, storage, and DER, in 25 states, in each interconnection and every RTO region). He serves as FERC counsel to a large coalition of transmission owners in one of the major Northeastern RTOs, as well as one of the nation’s largest vertically integrated public utility systems, located in the Southeast.
