Practice Areas
With a wide ranging practice and as co-head of Simpson Thacher's Special Situation group, Marisa Stavenas represents clients on an array of complex domestic and international capital raising, investment and restructuring transactions, including secured and unsecured debt issuances, structured investments, tender and exchange offers (debt and equity), reorganizations and other liability management transactions and IPOs and other equity offerings. She also regularly advises corporate clients on securities laws, corporate governance and other general corporate matters.
Career
Joined Simpson Thacher in 1999; became Partner in 2010.
Professional Memberships
Member of the Steering Committee of the Kate Stoneman Project, a leadership organization comprising women partners at leading New York-based law firms; serves as a mentor with W.O.M.E.N. in America to help professional businesswomen advance their careers; former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of All Souls School, an early childhood day school.
