He regularly represents public companies and the founders/owners/CEOs of private businesses, as well as buy-out and growth equity funds and their portfolio companies. Mark is well known in the health care industry as an adviser to leading health care companies on acquisitions, sales and private equity transactions. Mark’s deal list spans a variety of other industries as well, including software/technology, media/publishing, consumer products, manufacturing and distribution and financial services.

A former tax partner with another leading global law firm, Mark brings a broad range of business and strategic experiences to his transactional work. Outside of his private law practice, Mark was the Chief Operating Officer and a Principal, Portfolio Manager of GTCR Golder Rauner, LLC, a leading Chicago private equity firm. He also served as a senior executive and chief legal officer to two venture-backed companies, Click Commerce, Inc. and PrairieComm, Inc., and as an independent director of two public companies. These experiences enable Mark to counsel public company boards on important governance and transactional matters, as well as lead transactions for the owners and management teams of private companies or the principals of PE funds.
