Practice Areas
Mark is the Head of BVI office and its litigation team. He specialises in complex cross-border litigation and contentious cross-border insolvency, and is recognised for his emergency interim relief work and considerable insolvency experience. Mark also advises foreign states, government agencies both home and abroad, and liquidators on international fraud and asset tracing measures.
Mark regularly appears as lead advocate in both Commercial Court and Court of Appeal cases, often appearing against visiting counsel and Queens Counsel. In recent years Mark has developed a strong practice involving CIS states and, in particular, the leading fraud and asset tracing work from that region, working both for in-house counsel and counsel located regionally. From this extensive experience of work from that region, Mark is familiar with practices and cultures of the corporate landscape in both Russia and Kazakhstan in particular.
An experienced panel speaker at most international conferences in UK, US and Russia, Mark is also a former member of the editorial board of INSOL World and currently on the inaugural board of the BVI International Arbitration Centre.
