Murali Pillai SC is a partner of Rajah & Tann's Commercial Litigation, Appeals and Issues and Employment & Benefits Practices. He was appointed as Senior Counsel in January 2020.

With over two decades of experience, Murali has a strong focus in employment litigation. He has worked on several high-profile complex employment disputes. He has argued several landmark civil and criminal cases in the Supreme Court of Singapore, and has an active practice that sees him repeatedly pitted against senior counsel on a wide spectrum of matters.

Murali’s clients includes financial institutions, public health institutions and insurance companies where he is involved in matters such as mass departure of financial advisers to a competitor, departure and recruitment of senior employees involving issues of enforcement of post-termination restrictive covenants, banking secrecy and preserving confidentiality.
