Work Highlights
-The trustees of the New Airways Pension Scheme, Heathrow Airport, Selfridges and Vistry Group pension schemes on technical pensions issues associated with those schemes.
-The trustees of a defined benefit pension scheme on the first deferred buy-in transaction with Canada Life.
-The trustee of the BAA Pension Scheme on a £370m buy-in with Legal & General.
-The trustee of Coca-Cola’s UK defined benefit scheme on the implementation of a captive reinsurance arrangement, and subsequent change of insurer and captive.
-Negotiating valuations for several different trustee clients with Pensions Regulator involvement and putting in place covenant improving security packages.
-Advising trustee and employer clients on the treatment of surplus and desectionalisation issues.
-Completing the merger of the Taylor Wimpey legacy pension schemes, and the implementation of an asset-backed funding structure involving numerous show homes.
Practice Areas
Natalie Mee is a partner in the Pensions team advising a broad range of trustee and employer clients, on the day-to-day running of occupational pension schemes of all sizes across different sectors including aviation, construction and retail.
Natalie has extensive experience in risk reduction exercises, scheme mergers and negotiating funding arrangements between trustees and corporates. She advises trustees and employers in relation to buy-in and buy-out transactions, and has advised on a number of asset-backed funding and captive reinsurance arrangements. Natalie is recognised in client feedback as “someone you want on your team” and clients praise her ability to “explain complicated concepts in a straightforward way”.
Having been on secondment to British Airways Pensions Natalie has first-hand experience of working with clients as part of their team. She speaks regularly at industry seminars and conferences and sits on the board of the Pensions Management Institute London Committee.
