Noreen Phelan

Noreen Phelan, a partner in Sidley Austin’s energy group in Washington, DC, counsels market leading private equity and strategic investors, financing providers, governmental entities and major developers in connection with investments in and financing of wind, solar, hydroelectric and other renewable energy projects and conventional power generation facilities. She has significant experience representing clients in complex tax equity and debt financings, project and portfolio acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures and other investment arrangements for energy assets in all stages of their life cycle. Noreen has earned a reputation as a creative and solution-oriented practitioner who assists clients with identifying sources of financing, creating complex legal structures, identifying and mitigating risks associated with particular project, and addressing industry specific circumstances that are key to getting a particular project financed or sold.

Prior to joining Sidley, Noreen was an Energy and Infrastructure partner at another major international law firm.
