A former Japanese judge and litigator, Shuzo Maryama, focuses his practice on US patent litigation and licensing involving leading Japanese corporations. He works on a wide range of technologies and life sciences. His experience covers ANDA litigation.
Based on his ten-year trial experience in Japan and ten-year patent litigation practice in the United States, he offers his clients critical insight and invaluable advice with regard to cross-border patent cases. His goal is to support his clients in solving US or global disputes efficiently, effectively, and satisfactorily in view of each client’s business objective and culture.
His practice covers both the US District Court cases and the US International Trade Commission (ITC) investigations. Recently, he secured two complete victories on behalf of major Japanese automotive companies in multi-patent, multi-respondent ITC cases with corresponding district court litigations.
