Nick Merritt is a project finance and banking lawyer with a particular focus on sustainability and sustainable finance. He previously served as the global head of infrastructure, mining and commodities.
Nick focuses on major infrastructure projects. He has advised clients across a diverse range of sectors including biofuels, defence, mining, petrochemicals, ports, power generation, rail, renewables, roads, satellites, sport and leisure infrastructure, water and waste.
Nick advises clients on the development of sustainability strategies. He supports companies in identifying their sustainability opportunities and risks; business transformation and the development of sustainable financial investments, particularly those aimed at mobilizing capital into the energy transition and the financing of sustainable infrastructure.
Nick is recommended in a number of legal publications, including Chambers and Partners Asia-Pacific.
Nick has been active supporter of the not-for-profit micro finance platform kiva.org that provides finance to under-privileged members of society in order that they may build a better future for themselves and families. To date, through this platform Nick has supported more than 60 individuals, in excess of 90 percent of whom are women, in 27 countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America.
