Ted is a registered patent attorney who has handled infringement cases related to many industries, including telecommunications, medical devices, drugs, software, and oil and gas exploration services. Ted is also one of the foremost experts on cases alleging breach of the obligation to license standard essential patents on fair, reasonable, and nondiscriminatory terms (FRAND). Ted has handled, as lead counsel, more than 10 contested FRAND trials or evidentiary proceedings in federal district court, the ITC, and arbitration in which royalty rates for standard essential patents were adjudicated. Many of the world’s leading innovators turn to Ted to defend their licensing programs against claims of anticompetitive behavior or breach of FRAND.
