Career
Thiago José da Silva is a partner at Pinheiro Neto Advogados in the corporate practice, focused on M&A, private equity, venture capital, publicly-held companies and corporate disputes. Thiago has been with the firm since 2010, and has over 18 years of professional experience.
Thiago has represented major private equity firms (Carlyle, Advent, SPX, among others) and venture capital players (Softbank, CapSur, for example), as well as several companies in cases of acquisition, investment or sale (such as Serasa, Vórtx, Ikesaki, Tok&Stok, among others).
Thiago has also acted in several relevant corporate transactions and disputes involving publicly-held companies, in particular (i) the extensive corporate reorganization of the Cosan Group reviewed by independent committees, which culminated in the simplification of its corporate structure and the collapse of the off-shore parent company; and (ii) the dispute between controlling shareholders of Usiminas that lasted for more than 4 years, in which his master's thesis was tested and corroborated by the courts in favor of the client.
