Úrsula Zavala specializes in environmental law, water resources and sanitation.

She advises large-scale investment projects, mainly in the mining and energy sectors, in environmental planning and structuring of the strategy to obtain the relevant permits for the start-up and execution of the project.

She has participated in the most relevant environmental litigation related to investment projects in various economic sectors.

Úrsula has extensive experience in advising companies dedicated to the use of natural resources in compliance with environmental obligations in the stages of development, operation and closing of operations.

She has also advised companies from various sectors in the analysis of risks arising from environmental obligations and responsibilities in the framework of financing infrastructure projects, as well as in corporate financing.

Likewise, she has advised national project developers, foreign investment funds and multilateral financial institutions on the legal aspects arising from the carbon market and climate change. Along these lines, she has led the development and negotiation of contracts for the purchase of greenhouse gas emission reductions, in the market regulated by the Kyoto Protocol as well as in the voluntary market.
