Vikna heads the firm’s Tax practice and regularly advises sovereign wealth funds, multinational corporations, government-linked companies, top-tier law firms, Big 4 accountancy firms and financial institutions. With a strong track record of successfully resolving multi-million dollar disputes with IRAS, advising on multi-jurisdictional tax-structuring and criminal tax litigation, he led the firm’s Tax practice to clinch Singapore’s Tax Disputes and Litigation Firm of the Year by the International Tax Review in 2017. Vikna was recognised as “Highly Regarded” in the “tax controversy” practice area by World Tax 2022, and as a “Distinguished Practitioner” in Tax by Asialaw Profiles 2021. Vikna is also the Chairman of the International Fiscal Association (Singapore Branch). His extensive experience and acute commercial acumen earned him praise in legal directories as an “experienced litigator” with “extensive tax knowledge”, and “an extremely intelligent man” who is “excellent to work with”. He also combines “very deep technical expertise with acute commercial acumen”, while "carefully listening to his clients and putting himself in their shoes". Prior to joining the firm, Vikna was a Senior Legal Specialist at IRAS, where he advised the authority on all areas of tax law, primarily in relation to complex, controversial and novel points of law.
