Career
Hon. William Cahill (Ret.) has been a JAMS arbitrator and mediator for over 21 years. During that time, he has mediated and arbitrated cases throughout the United States, as well as overseas. He estimates he has mediated between 20-25,000 cases and arbitrated around 100 more.
His practice includes business disputes, securities class action matters, consumer class actions, insurance coverage, real property, employment, intellectual property, legal and accountant malpractice, and complicated design and construction disputes involving, among others, high rises, airports, power plants, public contracts and various infrastructure projects.
Prior to becoming a full time neutral in 2000, Judge Cahill spent nearly ten years as a judge in San Francisco County Superior Court and before that he was a partner at a major San Francisco law firm. Judge Cahill takes seriously his responsibilities to prepare thoroughly for his cases and to maintain his national reputation for fairness and neutrality.
