Woochul Hwang is a senior foreign attorney and an international arbitration specialist in complex and high-value disputes arising from commercial and investment transactions, notably post-M&A, joint venture and shareholder disputes. He also regularly advises on multinational clients’ cross-border litigations as well as investigatory and regulatory matters. Mr. Hwang has been ranked as a leading individual in key legal directories. Following an apprenticeship assisting the academic research and arbitration practice of renowned international arbitrator Professor William W. “Rusty” Park of Boston University School of Law (2007-2011), he served as a key member and partner of Bae, Kim & Lee’s international arbitration/litigation team (2011-2020) prior to joining Kim & Chang (2020-Present). He is a co-author of the first English treatise on international arbitration in Korea and of its Korean counterpart. Educated at the American International School of Guatemala from the age of six through high school, he has a multicultural intuition and is trilingual, commanding native proficiency in Korean, English and Spanish.
