Antitrust:
The firm’s antitrust/competition law practice has a strong track record in merger control, where it consistently assisted clients in the antitrust clearance of complex mergers. PNM has also been very active in cartel investigations and other coordinated practices, representing companies and individuals charged in cartel investigations in many different industries. Another area in which PNM is consistently busy involves abuse of dominance/unilateral conduct cases representing clients in almost all relevant investigations initiated by CADE in key markets. Our team is also very active in developing strategic compliance work with a multidisciplinary team, whether structuring corporate integrity programs, conducting internal investigations and audits to map risks and vulnerabilities, and preventing legal liability.

Regulation & Public Law:
The firm’s regulation and public law practice is constantly involved in various relevant matters related to infrastructure projects, with extensive experience in public procurement, administrative contracts, concessions, public-private partnerships, and urban planning law. The firm has been especially active in regulatory issues before regulatory agencies and federal, state, and municipal authorities in sectors as diverse as telecommunications, biofuels, railways, roads, ports, water and waste management services, banking and payments, data protection and technology (including internet and digital platforms). PNM also regularly assists clients in complex public bids involving large projects such as new roads, subways, and spectrum for mobile markets.

1- Oi Group: PNM regularly advises the Oi group on regulatory and competition aspects related to various strategic issues, such as the termination of concessions, reversibility of assets, disposal of assets within the scope of the judicial recovery process, investigations and administrative proceedings before ANATEL and CADE, as well as in relation to its arbitration with ANATEL. We have been involved in all regulatory and competition law aspects of Oi Group’s judicial reorganization, including the sale of its mobile operations to Telefônica/TIM/Claro, one of the most challenging telecom transactions in Brazil.
2- AMBEV: PNM regularly represents Ambev in cases before CADE is currently representing the company in an ongoing antitrust investigation related to Ambev’s exclusivity practices.
3- Telefonica: PNM advises Telefonica on regulatory and competition law matters.
4-. Bradesco: PNM regularly advises Bradesco, a major financial conglomerate, in competition law matters before CADE. PNM recently acted for Bradesco in the negotiation of a settlement with CADE involving an investigation related to the sharing of customers banking data with other players for credit score purposes.
5- Iguá: PNM advises Iguá on regulatory aspects related to the divestment of a set of assets in the water and sewage sector.
