- Assist businesses, state and local government agencies and individuals with compliance, environmental permitting, financing, and business and real estate transactions
- Unique national practice experienced in facilitating conveyance of contaminated properties and environmental management of large remediation projects
- Provide guidance on all major federal and state environmental programs, including solid and hazardous waste, coastal zone management, tidal and inland wetlands, water quality, and stormwater management
- Extensive experience in state and federal courts with cost recovery actions, insurance matters, underground storage tanks, toxic torts, and the state and federal Environmental Protection Acts
Health Law
- Thorough knowledge of legal solutions for complex issues affecting health care industry
- Provide analysis and counseling on regulatory and corporate compliance, governmental audits and investigations (such as state and federal recovery audit contractors, Medicare and Medicaid audits); data privacy and security, including HIPAA issues and privacy breaches; corporate needs, including governance, mergers and acquisitions, and physician/hospital strategic alliances; and information technology and software licensing
- Represent clients in all major industry sectors including: hospitals and health care delivery systems, individual providers and provider groups, ACOs, continuing care and skilled nursing facilities, and clinical laboratories
- Represent companies involved in bioscience industry including: biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and software companies; medical device manufacturers; tissue banks; and venture capital firms
Labor & Employment
- Provides guidance on full range of labor relations and employment matters, including discrimination, wrongful discharge, pre-employment screening, hiring and onboarding, wage and hour, FMLA, immigration, workers’ compensation, collective bargaining and NLRB claims
- Represents private sector employers (startup, middle market and Fortune 500 companies) in major industries, manufacturers, schools and colleges, hospitals and health care providers, wholesalers and retailers, financial institutions, private equity firms and service businesses
- Represents public employers, service organizations and other non-profit enterprises, including municipalities, municipal boards and commissions, local and regional school boards, and state agencies
Litigation: General Commercial
- Extensive experience with wide spectrum of sophisticated business litigation matters
- Specialty areas include complex disputes involving trademarks, unfair competition, non-compete agreements, trade secret misappropriation, patents, software/ technology licensing, securities claims, breach of fiduciary duty, financing agreements, and franchising
- Represents market leaders in key industries such as financial services, information technology, telecommunications, agricultural cooperatives, petroleum marketing, franchising, and health care networks and providers
Real Estate & Land Use
- Unique and diverse team handling complex transactions and all aspects of real property ownership and development, including acquisition, deal structuring, land use and permitting, construction contracting, leasing, public and private debt and equity financing, and workouts and restructuring
- Practice includes extensive experience with retail, office, multi-family, industrial, warehouse, mixed-use, entertainment and other types of commercial property
- Represents foreign and domestic clients including: private developers; institutional owners, banks, REITs, lessees and investors in real property; traditional mortgage lenders; commercial real estate investment funds and sovereign wealth funds; and government entities
- Team includes nationally recognized land use and affordable housing specialists
