The Head of the Team is Anthony Williams who has significant experience in many areas of corporate litigation and dispute resolution. Richard Field is a leading practitioner within his key areas of regulation, trust litigation and data protection (and the only Band 1 Guernsey lawyer for Fintech by Chambers & Partners). Richard Sheldon has extensive regulatory and enforcement work experience, being involved in some of the most well-known and precedent setting cases on the Island. The associate team is broad and includes Daisy Fakude, a senior associate with a wide range of experience in commercial litigation and in particular restructuring and contentious insolvency matters.
The team acts for leading insolvency practitioners in the Island and abroad. We are the go to advisors for a number of prominent fiduciary and fund services providers. We are regularly instructed by onshore Law Firms in England and the US, amongst others and regularly act for a number of global banks. Our market‐leading regulatory practice advises clients on investigations and enforcement action undertaken by the local financial services regulator, the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC), and on cross-border matters.
Appleby is the only law firm in the Island with a dispute resolution team that spans all of the Crown Dependencies and other major offshore centres - boasting the ability to deliver top-level litigation services to clients in respect of multi-jurisdictional disputes.
