Our Insolvency team specialise in all aspects of Restructuring, Corporate Recovery and Insolvency.
The team maintains good relationships with insolvency practitioners across the region and have particular expertise in relation to complex investigatory work and anti-avoidance and asset realisation cases. On the contentious side, the particular specialism is that the department will take on nil-asset cases with significant deficiencies and assist Insolvency Practitioners in the forensic exercise of establishing whether assets have gone astray and if so advising and acting on the litigation (if required) to recover those assets for the benefit of the creditors within the particular insolvency. Litigation is a last resort but pursued vigorously, if required. The key focus on the litigation side is to maximise recoveries with the minimum of expense.
Clients know they will get no nonsense advice on the best route for recovery.
On the non-contentious side, the department is on a daily basis advising Insolvency Practitioners with regard to restructuring insolvent businesses with a view to saving them or, alternatively, assisting in the asset disposal dealing with providing advice on the particular nuances of any assets and employment advice where appropriate on issues such as TUPE.
