The team act for a number of national and regional insolvency practitioners and maintains good relationships with insolvency practitioners both across the region and nationally. The department is divided between contentious and non-contentious. On the contentious side, the particular specialism is that the department will take on nil-asset cases with significant deficiencies and assist Insolvency Practitioners in the forensic exercise of establishing whether assets have gone astray and if so advising and acting on the litigation (if required) to recover those assets for the benefit of the creditors within the particular insolvency. Litigation is a last resort but pursued vigorously, if required. The key focus on the litigation side is to maximise recoveries with the minimum of expense.
The team’s reputation in the market is supported by the relationships the team has developed with a number of insolvency practitioners within both the region and on a national basis including Grant Thornton, BDO, Begbies Traynor, RSM, FRP Advisory, Quantuma, Alvarez & Marsal, RSM, Smith & Williamson, Hazlewoods and EWS to name a few.
The team prides itself on being known as a pro-active, technically astute, and commercially focussed team which is able to deal with complex instructions. The team already has an excellent reputation in the market, being both commercial and technically outstanding, which has led to an expanding market presence and the need to further recruit.
