Established in 1993, Makes & Partners (“Makes” or the “Firm”) is an independent, innovative and creative Indonesian law firm with a history of forward thinking. The market recognises Makes as a strategic leader for integrated commercial business and legal solutions. The Firm advises both Indonesian and international clients and helps them achieve their commercial goals by providing timely, practical and high quality legal services. Since its inception, Makes has adopted and inculcated the philosophy: "solving a legal problem means more than just knowing the law", to achieve a result-oriented commercial approach and high completion rate for the transactions. Makes’ track record shows a propensity for innovation and ground-breaking achievements. In 2014, Makes welcomed the era of greater ASEAN and Pan-Asian economic cooperation and integration with a strategic alliance with leading Singapore law firm, WongPartnership LLP (“WongPartnership”) for seamless services throughout the region. In addition, a strategic alliance with Lubis Santosa Mitra (“LSM”) was also established, a move that leverages both the firms’ expertise in their respective fields of capital markets-merger & acquisition-corporate finance (for Makes) and litigation & arbitration (for LSM) and allows them to provide seamless and optimal services to the clients.

In these past 30 years of practicing in Indonesia, the Firm has also developed a solid relationship with government agencies and the Indonesian legal community that aids it in updating its clients with significant developments in the economic and legal sectors and then assisting them accordingly. Makes’ lawyers are assisted by special counsel attorneys who have served as senior officials in government ministries and in the Supreme Court.
