The firm covers all disciplines and areas of legal advice of interest for players operating in the Spanish energy sectors. It advises Spanish and International players on M&A transactions related to either greenfield or brownfield projects and on all aspects of energy regulations in the process for authorising, developing, constructing, acquiring and financing of all type of energy-related assets, specially renewables (wind, solar plants, hydro, biomass, solid urban waste, etc.) and co-generation projects, regulated and liberalised procurement, supply and distribution of energy inputs, relations with the Public Authorities; advice on energy-related contracts, such as PPA, supply and installation, S&A, EPC, gas procurement, trading; litigation and arbitration.

Competition/European Law:
This practice is mainly focused on preventive legal advice and infringement proceedings (before Spanish and EU Authorities). Likewise, damages claims for Competition law infringement and merger control are also areas in which the firm is highly specialised. The firm’s clients are professional associations, companies and multinationals active in a broad variety of sectors (construction, carton and paper, automotive, plastic recycling etc). It deserves special mention our legal advice within certain regulated sectors (electricity, gas and oil) in which the firm has been involved in all the major infringement proceedings initiated recently and in the implementation of new regulations.

The firm’s advice includes administrative procedures relating to licenses, permits, concessions or expropriations in the activities subject to administrative intervention with special focus on energy, water, mining, transportation, health and public services. The public law team has broad expertise in advising on public procurement, PPP and concession contract, transportation law is also in the scope of their services.
