Corporate/M&A & Tax:

Members of the firm’s corporate and tax department participate in the negotiation and documentation of complex business transactions, M&A, furnishing timely advice about securities, tax, environmental, employment law and other issues. The firm advises clients concerning business, corporate and securities, tax, international business, regulatory and administrative, energy and government relations.

Employment & Labor, Immigration:

The firm’s employment law practice is one of the deepest and broadest in the Intermountain Region. Many of its attorneys practice exclusively in the labor and employment area. Areas of representation include wrongful discharge, discrimination, sexual harassment, employee benefits, ERISA, workers’ compensation, OSHA and MSHA, and National Labor Relations Act.

Energy, Environmental & Natural Resources:

With more than 25 attorneys, the firm has one of the largest environmental, energy and natural resources practice groups in the western United States. The practice is national and international in scope with particular emphasis on the western United States and Latin America. Areas of practice include mining, oil and gas, water rights, public lands, energy and electrical power, renewables, air and water quality, hazardous waste, superfund and Brownsfield and occupational issues. In these and other areas, the firm advises and assists clients with transactions and finance, project development and closure, property acquisition and title, permitting, compliance, enforcement, cost recovery, rate cases, litigation, rulemakings and legislation

Government Relations, Lobbying & Political Law:

Attorneys and lobbyists represent clients before state legislatures, local governments and regulatory agencies on issues including, but not limited to: environmental, natural resources finance, power, real estate telecommunications and transportation. Attorneys and professionals in this practice area, many of whom have significant campaign and election law experience, also advise clients regarding election law, campaign finance, lobbying, procurement and regulatory law.

Intellectual Property:

The firm handles intellectual property of all types, including patents, trade secrets, trademarks, copyrights, technology licensing and intellectual property agreements. Attorneys assist clients in all industries with intellectual property and technology matters including patent infringement and intellectual property litigation. The firm has the resources to assist clients in patent prosecution, licensing, portfolio management, strategic counseling and other transactions involving intellectual property assets.

Litigation:

Mining:

With beginnings as a mining firm, Parsons Behle & Latimer has one of the strongest mining practices in western U.S. From initial stages of a mining project through reclamation and closure, its attorneys have experience assisting clients with mineral title examination and land use authorizations; financing; mergers and acquisitions; joint ventures; exploration, lease and option agreements; environmental permitting, compliance and diligence; royalty and refining agreements; joint operating agreements; water rights; electrical power supply and infrastructure; and administrative appeals and litigation.

Real Estate, Banking & Financial Services:
