Aarushi Jain is a partner in the Technology Practice at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. She heads the Media, Education and Gaming Practice verticals at the firm. Over the years, she has advised several clients including tech companies and platforms, media and new media businesses, production houses, education groups, EdTech entities, gaming platforms, Indian and domestic, on a variety of legal, commercial, and regulatory issues.
As a tech and media lawyer, she advises production houses as well as several top talents in India on production, sponsorship, brand endorsements, content acquisition, licensing, and exploitation deals. She has vast experience in advising leading OTT, gaming, and social media platforms in India on a variety of IP, content, technology, data protection, regulatory, policy, and disputes related issues. In addition, Aarushi has, over the years, advised online real money and casual gaming platforms in relation to their India offerings. Aarushi is also focused on sports law, including e-sports and social games as a vertical. Her scope of work further includes advising clients across sectors on a variety of content and advertising law related issues.
Aarushi has been involved in M&A transactions in the tech, media and education space in India. Building on her expertise in content related issues, she has been assisting several foreign universities in structuring collaboration, licensing, and research centric deals in India.
She also has significant experience in advising clients on data protection and digital privacy, cybersecurity and other new age issues arising due to new business models including those of user harm. Aarushi loves to talk about convergence of tech, policy reforms, as well as new age issues including those of AI.
