Adam is one of the nation’s leading advisors helping organizations and individuals manage crises, maximize stakeholder relations, and execute strategic and litigation communications. He specializes in complex matters at the intersection of communications, law, and politics.

Adam is known for his strategic expertise, his unrelenting advocacy on clients’ behalves, his experience across sectors and issues, and his client service. Chambers and Partners has ranked him in its guides for Litigation PR & Communications and Crisis PR & Communications every year since both guides’ inceptions. And Chambers reported that clients noted that he is “incredible, smart, and shrewd,” is “incredibly focused and strategic, and his political judgment is fantastic,” and ”works directly with the client and strikes a real partnership.”

Adam honed his expertise when serving in the White House as Special Associate Counsel to President Clinton from 1996 to 1999, developing and executing communications and political strategies for the Monica Lewinsky, campaign finance, technology transfer to China, and other investigations and sensitive matters. Serving as a White House spokesman, Adam worked extensively and daily with the White House press corps and national and global investigative reporters. His issue areas included congressional, Department of Justice, and independent counsel inquiries as well as private lawsuits against President Clinton and other White House staff. Before the White House, Adam began his career advising clients on public policy at a prominent Washington, D.C. law firm, and then served as the Director of Rapid Response for Special Projects for the Democratic National Committee during the 1996 presidential campaign.

His counsel and advocacy focus on the following: media investigations; crisis preparation and management; regulatory, congressional, and other government investigations; litigation communications; stakeholder relations, including interest from multi-cultural organizations, grass-roots groups, and other NGOs; public policy issues, government relations, and public affairs campaigns; and general corporate and litigation advice.

Adam has been an advisor, advocate, and strategist for companies, executives, high-net-worth and other individuals, state and local governments, non-profits, and Indian tribes on matters spanning industries and geography. These matters have encompassed the hospitality, technology, financial, entertainment, pharmaceutical and biotech, consulting, professional sports, publishing, education, hedge fund, private equity, venture capital, genetics testing, retail, transportation, automotive, cannabis, logistics, and telecommunications sectors, among others.

Adam has been an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, where he co-taught classes on crisis management and communications. He has authored published articles on congressional investigations and crisis management, and is a commentator for national broadcast, print, and online media outlets.

In addition to his practice and teaching, Adam serves on the Board of Directors of the Capital Area Food Bank, the Washington, D.C. metro area’s largest, non-profit hunger and nutrition education resource. The food bank partners with over 450 nonprofits in the D.C. region to provide 30 million meals to almost 500,000 area residents each year.

Admitted in New York, the District of Columbia, and various federal courts, Adam graduated Harvard Law School, cum laude, in 1994 and Tufts University, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, in 1991.
