Career
Adam Levitt is a founding partner of DiCello Levitt Gutzler and Managing Partner of its Chicago office, from where he heads the firm’s product liability and public client practice groups. With more than 30 years’ experience, Adam is one of the nation’s leading advocates for plaintiffs in commercial, class action, and public client litigation, particularly in financial services, automotive defect, consumer protection, agricultural, antitrust, and securities litigation, recovering billions of dollars in pre- and post-verdict settlements for his clients and class members.
Adam served as co-lead counsel and recovered nearly $2 billon for plaintiffs in three of the largest biotechnology class actions in history. He also was part of the leadership team representing consumers in the massive Volkswagen “Clean Diesel” Emissions case. The Recorder labeled the plaintiffs’ leadership group that was appointed in that, which settled for more than $17 billion, a “class action dream team.” Currently, Adam represents the State of Michigan and the State of Illinois in those states’ PFAS-related water contamination litigation—among the largest environmental cases in U.S. history.
