Aimery de Schoutheete has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and in handling litigation before the Belgian courts, but also in other jurisdictions as well as arbitration proceedings (ICC and CEPANI). He has particular expertise in the fields of distribution, international sale of goods and commodities, manufacturing, chemicals, agribusiness and insurance as well as Congolese law. He is the co-founder and head of Liedekerke’s Africa desk.
Aimery also advises mainly corporate clients on labour and employment law, with a focus on company restructuring and transfer of undertakings. His practice encompasses such issues as employment termination, free-lance contracts, employment litigation, stock options, incentive plans, international law in relation to employment contracts and social security and Congolese employment law.
He is the author or co-author of several publications on distribution law and on employment law and he is the editor for general commercial law of the Revue de Droit Commercial.
Career
Aimery joined Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick in 1986 and became a Partner in 1995. He was Managing Partner of the firm from 2001 to 2010.
