Alexandros Tsagkalidis

Practice Areas

Alexandros is a partner with Anagnostopoulos. He advises and represents corporates and individuals in a wide range of financial and business crimes including bribery, anti-competitive practices, tax fraud, customs fraud, money laundering, healthcare offences, gambling offences and related matters. He is also experienced in extradition, surrender and mutual assistance procedures. As a litigator Alexandros has a remarkable track record in cross-border matters, evidence gathering and asset recovery.

Career

Alexandros received his education at the School of Law, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (JD, 2007, LLM, 2011).

In 2022 he acquired a doctor juris degree by the same University with a disseration on freezing of assets in the EU to be published in 2024.

In January 2023 he was awarded the Babakos Prize of the Hellenic Criminal Bar Association. The Prize is awarded periodically to criminal defence attorneys who excel in the courtroom and contribute to the theory and practice of criminal law.

Professional Memberships

Alexandros is a member of the Athens Bar and the Hellenic Criminal Bar Association. He is also a member of the Legal Experts Advisory Panel of Fair Trials International.
