Alice van der Schee has been a lawyer since 1990 and a partner with Van Benthem & Keulen since 2001. She leads the Restructuring & Insolvency team. Alice is often appointed as administrator in moratoriums of payments and as insolvency practitioner in bankruptcies. A recent high-profile appointment as insolvency practitioner is the bankruptcy of MC IJsselmeerziekenhuizen B.V. Alice is bilingual and also admitted to the bar in Germany (Rechtsanwältin).
Alice is a member of the Council of INSOL Europe, chairman of the Membership Development Committee of INSOL Europe, chairman of INSOLAD’s disciplinary committee and a member of the Board of Directors of SCG Legal, a global network of law firms of which Van Benthem & Keulen B.V. is a member.
Furthermore, Alice is a member of INSOLAD, INSOL World, TMA Nederland, NVRII (Netherlands Association for Comparative and International Insolvency Law), the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Insolvenzrecht und Sanierung of the Deutscher Anwaltverein and several other (international) organisations.
Recent publications are articles in TvI (the Dutch Journal on Insolvency law, 2018) and the INSOLAD yearbook (2019), the subject of the articles being the European Insolvency Regulation and the European Directive on Preventive Restructuring Frameworks, Insolvency and Discharge Procedures respectively.
