In connection with his management of high-profile investigations, Allen draws on his public and private sector experience to integrate investigative skills with technology, data analytics, and financial expertise to provide clients with seamless approaches to critical problems.

Allen routinely serves as a trusted adviser to corporations, audit committees, special committees of boards of directors, financial institutions and law firms. He works with clients across various industries, including financial services, pharmaceuticals, energy, gaming, and the public sector.

Allen’s investigative expertise spans diverse areas, including internal investigations, fraud investigations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and anti-bribery/anti-corruption investigations, investigative due diligence, anti-money laundering (AML) investigations, corporate governance, and integrity and compliance monitoring.

Allen is also a leading expert in independent monitorships and receiverships, providing oversight to the government, regulators, law enforcement and the judiciary. In December 2023, the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona appointed Allen as the Receiver of ArciTerra Companies, LLC and its related affiliates. Additional monitorship appointments include selection by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York to serve as the Independent Monitor for PokerStars; selection by the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) to lead an Independent Consultancy of both a large international bank and an international investment company; appointment by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to be the Receiver of Mount Vernon Money Center; and selection by the U.S. Department of Justice to be the Administrator of a multi-million-dollar victim restitution fund in connection with a settlement between the Government and a large multinational energy company.

Prior to joining StoneTurn, Allen led the global investigations practices at two independent consulting firms, and served as regional counsel for one of the firms in its headquarters in New York.

Allen began his career as a Federal prosecutor in the U.S. Department of Justice, where he served as Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division and as Chief of the General Crimes Unit in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. During his tenure, Allen led sensitive and high-profile investigations of international money laundering, securities fraud, bank fraud, mail and wire fraud, racketeering, corruption, and organized crime, among others. For two notable prosecutions, Allen received The Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service and the U.S. Department of Justice Director’s Award for Superior Performance.
