Career
André Abbud is one of BMA’s Dispute Resolution partners. He has notable experience in complex national and international arbitration and civil litigation cases involving large companies.
André represents Brazilian and international clients in a variety of matters, including corporate, capital markets, infrastructure, and contractual disputes. His clients come from a broad range of sectors, such as finance, steelmaking, textiles, construction, logistics, concessions, civil aviation, energy, basic sanitation, retail, food and beverages, insurance, cosmetics, hospitals, paper and cellulose, and agribusiness. He also lectures at the Law School of the Fundação Getúlio Vargas – FGV SP and in the Advanced Arbitration Course offered by the São Paulo Attorneys’ Association - AASP.
André worked in the International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution group of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in New York from 2008 to 2009, and as law clerk to Justice Cezar Peluso of Brazil’s Supreme Court, from 2004 to 2007.
