Andrea Jaeger-Lenz is a partner at HARTE-BAVENDAMM. She has many years of experience in advising, litigating and settling disputes in the area of IP law, in particular in trademark and unfair competition law. Her litigation experience has shaped her approach and awareness of brand protection, enforcement and management, with a clear focus on clients' needs for pragmatic and result-oriented strategies for legal challenges.
Andrea works closely with global in-house teams to refine and enhance the protection of their brands and develop consistent enforcement practices. She provides commercial solutions that result in practical agreements between conflicting parties. Clients appreciate Andrea's accurate analysis of the opportunities and risks of initiating or defending IP proceedings and in concisely assessing the availability of trademarks, business, and domain names.
Andrea's litigation experience ranges from complex opposition proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the German Federal Patent Court, the EUIPO and the General Court, as well as court proceedings in Germany. Notwithstanding this, she aims to recommend and seek for efficient negotiated solutions to conflicts whenever possible and reasonable. Due to her work as a WIPO panelist, advising and representing clients in domain name disputes is one of her particular areas of expertise.
Professional Memberships
As Vice-Chair of the Legislative Advisory Comittee Intellectual Property and Media at the German Lawyers Association (Deutscher Anwaltverein), as well as member of the board of the Hamburg Bar, Andrea actively participates in the development of intellectual property law on national and EU level. Andrea is at close quaters with domain law. She is a member of the Panel of Domain Experts at the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, almost since day one.
