A Practicing lawyer for 40 years, he is well known as one of the leading lawyers in the banking field in Egypt, he drafted, negotiated, concluded numerous syndicated loan agreements, credit facility, debt rescheduling agreements and related security documents.
Ashraf assisted major banks in preparing banking standard forms, Islamic finance agreements, advised on banking law, CBE regulations, financial leasing, mortgage finance and micro-finance laws. He handled transactions pertaining to issuance of bonds, sukuk, securitization, factoring, companies’ restructure, handled procedures for obtaining approvals for establishment of microfinance entities and drafting relevant agreements. He represents leading banks in litigation and dispute resolution. Since 90’s Ashraf was involved in privatization of several Egyptian public sector companies. Moreover, he handled numerous merger and acquisition transactions for private sector companies.
