Burcu leads Moroğlu Arseven’s FinTech practice. She has vast experience in all aspects of IT and telecommunications law, as well as banking and finance.
Burcu’s work focuses on payment services, crypto and blockchain regulations, tokenization, crypto assets, openbanking, RegTech, InsurTech, financial markets and services, capital markets compliance, privacy, data protection, AML, anti-corruption.
She is known for being a strong negotiator, and providing clients with clear, quality and concentrated legal advice within the rapidly developing and expanding Turkish FinTech market.
Burcu has experience in all segments of FinTech regulatory support, providing business model and product legal analysis on software development, mobile services, web services, e-commerce and hardware manufacturing, related financing and investments, venture capitals and M&A projects.
She works closely with clients of all sizes and development stages, providing strategic guidance on the legal aspects of creating, acquiring, transferring, using and protecting technology.
Burcu is an active member of ITechLaw and International Bar Association, also mentoring entrepreneurs, start-ups and training angel investors within networks like Endeavor Turkey and G3 Entrepreneurship Forum. She participated in the UNCITRAL Cloud Computing Working Group. She is among the founding board members of the Data Protection Association of Turkey.
