Practice Areas

Caitlin is a partner and co-leads Fasken’s national Private Equity Group and also practices business law with an emphasis on mergers & acquisitions and securities. She is also a key member of Fasken’s U.S. and International Practice initiatives. Her practice focuses on private equity investments (LBOs and minority positions), large cross-border M&A, IPOs and privatizations. She is recognized as a leading lawyer by various publications and rankings, including Chambers. Caitlin works closely with a variety of private equity funds and their portfolio companies in M&A, governance matters and day to day servicing. She also regularly acts on behalf of public companies and underwriters in going public transactions, equity offerings and general securities matters.

Caitlin works closely with some of Québec’s largest private equity firms, as well as their portfolio companies, in M&A activities, reorganizations and serving in a day-to-day advisory capacity. She works closely with a number of North American private equity firms (including Novacap, Sagard, Walter Capital, BDC Capital, Namakor, Eiffel Investment Group, Firmament Group, Liberty Bay and GrowthCurve Capital), as well as their portfolio companies.

Caitlin is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Mergers & Acquisitions Committee including its private equity subcommittee, the Canadian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (CVCA), Réseau Capital and a founding member of Young Canadians in Finance. She is a frequent author and presenter on M&A trends including matters specific to the private equity context, such as reps and warranties insurance and the Canadian chapter of the Chambers PE guide annually.
