Cátia Fernandes is the founder of CF - Maritime Legal Services, an office based in Madeira focused in shipping and maritime law.

Cátia has close to two decades of experience in shipping and ship finance, with a vast background in providing services to international companies in the maritime sector.

Cátia acts as legal advisor in cross border transactions on behalf of international shipowners, banks and leasing entities. Particularly, Cátia provides legal assistance in matters related to ship registration and maritime guarantees, with particular emphasis on ship mortgages. Cátia actively intervenes in complex credit facilities and financing structures secured by mortgages registered in Madeira.

Other expertise includes the incorporation and management of shipping companies licensed to operate within the Madeira IBC.
