Public Children – the majority of Cat’s work is representing children through their court guardians in public law proceeding. Cat is committed to publicly funded work and ensuring the best outcomes for children and families. Cat is a practitioner who likes to ensure justice and fairness for all, but knows when to be pragmatic.

Career

Cat qualified in April 2012 after a previous IT career, and became a member of the children panel in March 2016. She joined Goodman Ray in July 2019 and became a partner in October 2023. Her experience has encompassed the spectrum of cases in children, both private and public law and in domestic abuse work although she now specialises in public law, from lower level neglect to serious cases of non-accidental injury, FII and sexual harm and applications under the inherent jurisdiction for issues such as deprivation of liberty safeguards and medical treatment orders, and even with increasing experience she is committed to continue representing clients at all levels – believing everybody deserves the best and most thorough representation from experienced practitioners. Cat is very hands on and undertakes both the case preparation and also the advocacy in the majority of her cases.
