Career
Cécile Martin is a Managing Partner of Ogletree Deakins.
For more than 20 years, she has developed extensive experience in the social management of restructurings, both advisory and litigation, the management of senior executives, the implementation of compensation policies (including for material risk takers), and discrimination and harassment litigation.
She also has recognized industry expertise in all aspects of data protection and compliance, particularly in the management of employees’ personal data, cyber-surveillance, ethical alerts and the implementation of new technologies (AI).
Having started her career at the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL), Cécile Martin is closely involved with major companies in their efforts to comply with all legislation relating to personal data and its social aspects. She was a member of the IAPP DPO France Skills Certification Committee, a former KnowledgeNet Chapter France and was a member of the European Advisory Committee of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). She is a regular contributor to French and international legal journals.
Cécile shares her expertise as a guest speaker at conferences in France and in Europe.
She lectures on data protection law at Paris La Sorbonne University and regularly provides training to companies and lawyers regarding the compliance with the GDPR.
She is ranked by Chambers & Partners Europe since 2020 and is recognised by Best Lawyers since 2021.
Cécile is a regular contributor of employment law articles published in the international guide Chambers Employment Practice.
She co-authored the article "An introduction to Employment" in Chambers Employment Practice In-Depth Overview for France in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
