Charlotte Beynon is an experienced practitioner in the field of Civil Fraud. She is currently acting and has acted in a number of novel and high-profile cases involving fraud, often where that fraud also involves a breach of duty by a fiduciary. These include: the BHS litigation (£130m claim against the former directors of BHS - one of The Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases of 2023 and one of its Blockbuster Trials of October 2023); King v Stiefel (solicitors alleged to be parties to a £55m+ unlawful means conspiracy); and PIFSS v Al Rajaan (unlawful means conspiracy case involving alleged fraud perpetrated by the former director general of a state pension fund in conjunction with a number of Swiss banks).
Charlotte is also particularly experienced in acting in high-value contentious trusts litigation, both onshore and offshore. She is currently acting in the Wong litigation (thought to be one of the largest ever trust disputes in the common law world) and in a number of exceptionally high-value cases in offshore jurisdictions. She also appears as specialist chancery counsel in matrimonial proceedings in the Family Division. Her legal writing has been published in Trusts & Trustees.
